The Fauxharmonic Orchestra creates amazing recordings and performances of your music. Our recordings will help you get more attention for your work, and that can lead to more performances.  Having a great recording of your work helps it stand apart when it is sent to music directors and ensembles, or when applying for grants and programs.

Recording Your Music

You send us your score in most any format, and we produce a musically nuanced, technically accurate recording.  You can decide what sort of acoustic space you’d like your recording to be made in.  You can also tell us how much reverberation, where the instruments should appear to be located on the virtual stage, and so forth.  Or you can trust our judgment.  You can be as involved as you want to be.

Revision

We will produce a second recording of your music correcting any errors or omissions on your part, and incorporating your unlimited list of comments/requests pertaining to our interpretation.

Lifetime Rewrites

We keep your score on file forever.  If you decide later that you want to completely re-write that horn part, we can quickly and easily make the changes and make you a new recording.

Parts and Score Printing

If you need a set of parts from your score, we’ll print them for you, along with your score, if needed.  Printing can be done on a wide variety of papers and sizes.  We can also deliver PDF files that you can print yourself whenever you need them.

No pre-existing score?

What if your original composition exists only in a MIDI version.  We can turn that file into a professional, musically accurate score (in C or transposing), produced to your specifications, or conforming to standard practice for concert performance, film scoring, musical theater, etc.  We can deliver you a printed, bound copy, PDF files, or notation program files (Sibelius or Finale).

Sweeten Your Existing Recordings

If your recording is rough around the edges, we can clean it up and make it sound better.  It may need a bit more reverb, filtering out AC noise, enhancing the bass, or reducing the resonance of particular frequencies.  It may lack a certain sense of space (it may sound to small and faraway, or too close and loud).

In this example, the composer supplied a studio recording of six string players.  We filled out the string sections and added the rest of the orchestra:

Mistake Killer®

What if you already have a very good recording of your work, but the trumpet comes in too early, and there you have your recording … complete with a major flub?

With the Fauxharmonic Mistake Killer®

Don’t worry about it!  Just send us your recording, along with a list of the corrections you want (or we can find the errors for you by comparing the recording to your score).  We’ll fix the mistakes, if possible, and send back a cleaned up recording.

Wrong notes, incorrect rhythm, audience coughs/noises, bad room sound, filtering out AC/street noise, etc. — Most of these imperfections can be removed or greatly reduced.

Music for Film and Games

If you’re writing film or video game music, we can deliver a great orchestral recording at a fraction of the cost of even the least expensive good orchestras.  And we’re fast.  We can deliver final audio (to your specifications) in a matter of days.  We’ve even delivered overnight for that all-important 9:00 am meeting with the director.

And the Fauxharmonic Orchestra can edit and re-record for pennies, while getting an orchestra back into the studio to make changes never happens.

Live Mixing

We can deliver emotionally nuanced, layered audio with total separation of tracks, allowing myriad combinations for game scenarios.  We can produce multiple versions of cues with different tempos, hooks, intros/outros, and other changes, providing you with all the material you could need to deal with the non-linear demands of gaming.
